ASN Offers 6 Categories of Membership:

CLINICIAN

Clinician (New) – $240

For individuals working in clinical practice, with a primary interest in clinical, applied, and translational nutritional content. Clinician Members may include physicians (MD, MBBS, MBChB, DDS, OD, DO), PA’s, NP’s, RD’s, and others working in clinical nutrition.

SCIENTIST

Scientist (Formerly "Regular") – $240

For individuals with a doctoral-level degree (i.e., PhD, MD, ScD, DVM, DPharm, etc.) in nutrition or a related field from an accredited institution, and notable accomplishments as a lead, senior, or other author of a nutrition publication in a peer-reviewed journal.

PROFESSIONAL

Professional (Formerly "Associate") – $240

For individuals with a degree in nutrition or related field, committed to nutrition research and practice or who demonstrate leadership in the nutrition field as an educator, speaker, advocate or administrator, but without a doctorate-level degree.

EARLY CAREER

Early Career I (0-5 years) – $80

Any individual within five years of receiving a doctorate or terminal degree or young professional who has completed a nutrition or related degree within the past five years is eligible to apply.

Early Career II (6-10 years) – $160

Any individual within six to ten years of receiving a doctorate or terminal degree or young professional who has completed a nutrition or related degree within the past six to ten years is eligible to apply.

STUDENT

Student Undergraduate – Free

Any individual who is a candidate for an undergraduate degree and is a full-time student at an accredited institution is eligible to apply.

Applications for Student Undergraduate membership must include at least one of the following documents:

A letter from your academic institution confirming your status as a full-time undergraduate student -- Letter must be written in English and include either your enrollment date or anticipated graduation year
This completed ASN Membership Undergraduate Student Certification form

Student Graduate – $40

Any individual who is a candidate for a graduate or medical degree at an accredited institution is eligible to apply.

EMERITUS

Emeritus – Free

Any ASN member age 67 or older and in good standing for at least ten years. Emeritus members must not be employed in a full-time capacity. Members who have retired from the profession, who hold emeritus status, or have taken a leave of absence are eligible.

REDUCED MEMBERSHIP

Members in Developing Countries (Clinician, Scientist, Professional, or Early Career) – $60

Discounted membership is available for individuals residing in a low, lower-middle or higher-middle income country as defined by the World Bank. Click here to see the list of countries eligible for discounted membership.
